Base on a true recount....

Alright! I'm sure all of you remembered the Food Cross challenge we had on Friday. Well... One of the rules of the game was that we are require to take a picture with the food vendors as a prove that we brought the food from them. However, we encountered several cases where these vendors refuse to take a picture with us. Hence I came up with two conclusion of who they are and where they come from. Thus I gave my deduction, evidences and conclusion as the Zombie Theory.

1. They are undead.
Technically, undead are actually dead people but somehow manage to retain memories and abilities to move their body. They are suppose to be dead, which means they don't exist. Thus they do not have a reflection in front of a mirror nor could their images be captured in a digital camera.

2. They are Zombies!
Based on the food vendors we encountered, most of them sell sweet food item or food not associated with salt. To support my conclusion, here is my evidence. Zombies are actually decay flesh, and salt is a good preservative where people use in the past to preserve their food. Salt helps the food to dry thus preserving them. Hence when decayed flesh comes in contact with salt, they dries up too; and with more salt applied to them. They will be so dried up that even against a gentle breeze, they will crumble and be reduced to ashes.

Consider a hammer. It's designed to hit nails. That's what it was created to do. Now imagine that the hammer never gets used. It just sits in the toolbox. The hammer doesn't care.

But now imagine that same hammer with a soul, a self-consciousness. Days and days go by with him remaining in the toolbox. He feels funny inside, but he's not sure exactly why. Something is missing, but he doesn't know what it is.
Then one day someone pulls him out of the toolbox and uses him to break some branches for the fireplace. The hammer is exhilarated. Being held, being wielded, hitting the branches--the hammer loves it. At the end of the day, though, he is still unfulfilled. Hitting the branches was fun, but it wasn't enough. Something is still missing.

In the days that follow, he's used often. He reshapes a hubcap, blasts through some sheet rock, knocks a table leg back into place. Still, he's left unfulfilled. So he longs for more action. He wants to be used as much as possible to knock things around, to break things, to blast things, to dent things. He figures that he just hasn't had enough of these events to satisfy him. More of the same, he believes, is the solution to his lack of fulfillment.
Then one day someone uses him on a nail. Suddenly, the lights come on in his hammer soul. He now understands what he was truly designed for. He was meant to hit nails. All the other things he hit pale in comparison. Now he knows what his hammer soul was searching for all along.

We are created in God's image for relationship with him. Being in that relationship is the only thing that will ultimately satisfy our souls. Until we come to know God, we've had many wonderful experiences, but we haven't hit a nail. We've been used for some noble purposes, but not the one we were ultimately designed for, not the one through which we will find the most fulfillment. Augustine summarized it this way: "You [God] have made us for yourself and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in Thee."

A relationship with God is the only thing that will quench our soul's longing. Jesus Christ said, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." Until we come to know God, we are hungry and thirsty in life. We try to "eat" and "drink" all kinds of things to satisfy our hunger and thirst, but yet they remain.
We are like the hammer. We don't realize what will end the emptiness, the lack of fulfillment, in our lives. Even in the midst of a Nazi prison camp, Corri Ten Boom found God to be wholly satisfying: "The foundation of our happiness was that we knew ourselves hidden with Christ in God. We could have faith in God's love...our Rock who is stronger than the deepest darkness."
Usually when we keep God out, we try to find fulfillment in something other than God, but we can never get enough of that thing. We keep "eating" or "drinking" more and more, erroneously thinking that 'more' is the answer to the problem, yet we are never ultimately satisfied.
Our greatest desire is to know God, to have a relationship with God. Why? Because that's how we've been designed. Have you hit a nail yet?

Our church attendance last week was...

1017!

Whoo! God is awesome!

For E Zone, we have finally broken through and hit 100!

What's more, E2 broke through and we were 21!

Praise God! Let's keep having faith and success!

E2 will grow and grow and grow! Breakthrough! :)

The last session of BMT is in 10 hours time and we're all excited. We're going to graduate!...

... No actually, just Tommy and myself. HAHA.

The rest will graduate during the second round! Because most of us have school and exams etc. that clashes...

Can't wait to see everyone officially serving God very soon! :)

Let's not just be normal Sunday Christians, but strong and radical ones!

This is what we want to be... Not just big, but strong.

Pastor How once shared that he rather has a STRONG church than a BIG church... Of course, we still want to be both BIG and STRONG!

But strength is more important than size...

A church isn't strong if 1000 people come for weekend services, but only 300 turn up for a church-wide prayer meeting or their respective cell group meetings...

A church isn't strong if it has the strength of 700, yet only 200 serve in ministry...

A church isn't strong no matter how high their peak attendance, but fall drastically during exam period...

Heart of God church isn't like that! Amen?

We are strong. We are radical.

It is easy to say "God is my first priority" during the holidays and times when we are the most free, but the real test comes when we're facing the biggest problems and challenges in our lives, especially exams and work...

It is easy to be enjoy and be excited about the things of God and church, but staying faithful and committed to it is another story...

It is easy to say that we love God, but it's difficult to say that we are loyal to Him...

It is easy to say that we'll give God our 100%, our all... But to live it?

Pastors are successful today because they are radical.

Pastor How gave up taking over his father's multi-million dollar business company to serve God.

Pastor Lia quit her job as a Straits Times journalist.

Today they are the pastors of our church, a fast-growing church who hit 1017 people just last weekend...

A convicted church who pledged close to two million dollars for Building Fund...

With faith-filled and faithful people... Top N Level Student, Selwyn Sim... One of the best amateur golfers in Singapore, Justin Han... And not forgetting our very successful businessman Clemen Chiang...

Our leaders like Garrett can lead more than a hundred people, play guitar on 41st Day, lead another worship team (Resonance), be a chief of staff and still do well in a university like SMU...

Wendy Neo led around 50 people last year and got A A C for her A Levels...

How?

Their lives around Matthew 6:33, loud and clear...

"But seek FIRST the kingdom of God and it's righteousness, and all these things shall be added to your place."

We can be like them. Radical. Reckless. Risk-takers. Full of faith.

Knowing that when they give their all to God, God will give them His all as well.

Even in the midst of exams... Or even in the midst of many problems...

When time and seasons were against them... They were able to stand strong...

More than just coming for services, they still never gave up what they were currently doing for God...

How are we Christians... when we can't live and walk by faith?

"Then it shall be, if you heed all that I command you, walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as My servant David did, then I will be with you and build for you an enduring house..." - 1 Kings 11:38

If we build God's house, God will build ours...

God will build our lives strong like an enduring house.

If we obey God's call and commandments, God will be steadfast to answer our prayers.

If we are faithful to everything we do for Him, He will be faithful in building our lives.

If we can take care of His church and His people, He will take care of us.

If we can live for God's glory and success, God will bring us to success in life.

So, will you be radical today?

I'm sure all of us have a dream to be successful in life.

But that isn't enough. Like Pastor Lia preached today, people don't remember us for being successful.

Can you remember the richest guy of 1995?

Can you remember the best businessman in the marketplace of 2002?

Can you remember the best shares-holder of 2000?

No?

But if I ask you now, can you remember Mother Theresa?

She wasn't the richest nor the most successful, but why does the world remember her?

Because she was significant.

What she did was significant to the world because of her caring nature. Because of her kindness and love for the poor, many people's eyes are opened to the poverty and sickness around the world!

We shouldn't just live for success, we should live for significance.

How? Like Mother Theresa, the key is to be a blessing to others!

3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father

The most significant person in world's history is Jesus Christ!

He lived not just for success. He lived not just to let all know that He is the Son of God.

But He lived to offer Himself as the greatest blessing to the world - salvation.

Like our pastors, they aren't living just for success. They didn't build the church to just be successful pastors...

They built Heart of God church because they had a heart for young people and believed they can rise up to serve God in their youth - the best years of their lives...

Because they had a burning passion to raise up a different generation of Christians who will never compromise God and church, and will put Him first in anything...

For this generation, us, they gave their lives as a blessing to all of us... that we may have the privilege to start serving God at such young ages like now...

That we realise the potential and opportunity we have to make a difference in our society and our world...

That we realise we can in turn be a blessing to others and a significant person to be remembered by all...

If you plan for one year you grow rice
If you plan for 10 years you grow trees
If you plan for centuries you grow individuals

Every birth has THREE parts - Conception Process, Gestation and then, the real Birth.

The first two is where faith is really built to believe and see the birth of a new life...

To see a person born again in the spirit...

The faith needed, when that very day comes, to PUSH!!!

Tonight's service with Pastor Tan was awesome, just what we were prepared for, a powerful word from the man of God...

Prayer... So simple an act, yet so difficult a task.

So powerful, yet so neglected.

Let's not even talk about what prayer is about, but even if Pastor Cho, founder of over-750000-member Yoido Full Gospel Church, can commit 3 hours of prayer to God every day, there shouldn't be a reason why we can't pray just 15 minutes daily.

I mean, look at Pastor Cho... He's not the most charismatic nor talented person, yet he is so successful or influential for one reason - his private spiritual life!

We will only be strong Christians if we have a strong prayer life.

Prayer is the action of our faith...

Prayer pushes us to be able to see higher and further from where we usually do.

Prayer let's us see and imagine in the fourth dimension... to have dreams and visions...

To see our friends who laugh at our faith now, serving in the usher ministry...

To see our family members who persecute us, becoming a light in the marketplace for Jesus...

To see people with hardened hearts towards the Gospel, lifting their hands in worship to Him...

Prayer pushes us to have faith and see all these come to past...

For Hebrews 11 says that without faith it is impossible to please God, yet Matthew 17:20 says all you need is faith of a mustard seed...

Just that little bit to believe what you imagine will come true...

Just those few words to speak out, and God will move for you!

Pray until you spot a spark that fits your dream... or matches what you have seen

Pray until what you see in the fourth dimension happens in the third...

PUSH... A new life is birthing forth.

Pastor Tan is the Deputy Senior Pastor of City Harvest Church, meaning he's the second man to Pastor Kong! Thus, it's really a privilege to have him this weekend! Pastor Tan first came to our church to preach during our dedication service at FTMS House when we first moved there! He has visited us twice when we were there... It's so awesome to look back at the past and see how far we've come, that this time round he's coming to Singpost!
I also heard that Pastor Tan isn't coming by invitation, but by request to come because he said he has a Word for our church! Exciting right? Let's not miss this out and really receive from this great man of God, especially the disciple of Pastor Kong, who is our pastors' pastor ("grand pastor") ! HAHA!

Welcome to the official launch of the new E2 blog!

Greatest thanks to Anthony for the design and layout! Whoo!
